Cool front

September 27, 2010

There is a cool front moving through this week. It is still early for usual flood ups, but the cooler weather does give a hint that the time of the year is coming around to start thinking about when to begin flooding for the season. For the most part, it has been a very dry month, so I do not anticipate many people flooding until we start seeing some rain. On the plus side, this week should be very nice weather to get any last minute “summer planned” work done before getting ready to start the season off with flooding fields and assessing the best time to do so.

Much of the forage crop seems to be doing well and so far we have avoided any storms. That is the best news coming down this week. Hopefully the luck will continue as hurricane season passes.
